Fly Fishing Lesson

Any Fly Fishing lessons in or around Rochester Minnesota??
I am currently in Rochester Minnesota receiving some treatments. I am new to fly fishing and with a lot of down time i would really like to get some lessons casting, and tying, and everything i can i guess. I am also willing to do some driving if need be.
Hey! Fellow Minnesotan Fly Fisher. I live less than 2 hours north of of Rochester MN. I fished some southeastern Minnesota steams on Friday 6/13/08. Water was murky fast and high because of all of the rain we’ve been getting. I’m sure you don’t need a Fishing Report.
Except for the high water, you are in a great location. There some 20+ trout streams with in 20 miles of Rochester.Mostly east of Rochester. See: http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/fishing/trout_streams/south_mn_maps.html
There is a Cabellas on Hwy 35 in Owatonna MN and a Gander Mountain in Lakeville MN. Both have a couple of aisles of Fly Fishing Equipment.Since I get my stuff on-line and tie my own flys, I haven’t been to many other fly shops. south of the Twin Cities.
You should check your local Community Education brochures through the local school districts. The Community Education departments provide adult education.
They put on programs though MinnAqua. When I started to Fly Fish I learned the basics of casting and Fly Tying. They are a great resource. I have been fly fishing for about 4 years and still don’t know everything nor am I an expert caster. I only know two types of casts pretty well. The one I use most is the Roll Cast. Yes. Practice your casts in the back yard, but to show any improvement I found that I learn the most on the water. You are welcome to chat or send an e-mail if your need any fly fishing advice.
Get your fly in the water and good luck!
